To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can have bombay chutney or pitla using 2 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Bombay Chutney or Pitla:
  1. Get 2 onions, 2 tomatoes, 1tsp mustard seeds, 1tsp jeera, 1 carrot
  2. Get 1 boiled potato, 2tbs besan or gram flour, 3 green chillies
Instructions to make Bombay Chutney or Pitla:
  1. Take 1tbsp oil in kadai and add mustard seeds n jeera saute once splutter add onions n green chillies saute again once soft add sliced tomatoes n saute then add cut carrots.
  2. Let the carrots cook till soft then add water n salt, turmeric n saute. Meanwhile add water to besan n mix well like in picture. This is to avoid any lumps. Dont add besan directly.
  3. Once carrots r cooked crush boiled potato n add in kadai. Mix well add more water cook for sometime. Add besan too n cook few min. When its bit thin off the stove as it thickens after adding besan. Garnish with coriander leaves. It goes very well with poori n chapati.
