The ingredients needed to make Awla Candy:
  1. Get 1 kg fresh awla(gooseberry)
  2. Prepare 1 kg Sugar
Instructions to make Awla Candy:
  1. Wash Awlas in water,pat dry. Place them in holes seive. Place this seive in cooker..on high container..so cooker water dosen't touch seive.
  2. Pressure cook,for 3 whistles. Let the steam escape, before opening the lid. You see the cooked Awlas are segmented.
  3. Gently pull out awla segments from each & desseed them. Place these awla segments in large vessel.
  4. Add and mix 1 kg of sugar on awla segments.
  5. Keep cover for 2 days..in between gently stirring the mixture 2-3 times in a day..so sugar gets dissolved.
  6. As sugar is completely dissolved.. strain the mixture…to separate soaked awla segments and sugar syrup mixture. Spread awla segments in large flat thali plate.
  7. Dehydrate them under sun or under fan..for 2-3 days.
  8. Store in airtight container. Serve,eat Awla candy as mouthfreshner after heavy meal.
