  6. Take 1 cup Pigeon Pea Lentils or Toor Daal
  7. Take 1/4 cup Red Lentils or Masoor Daal
  8. Get 3-4 Tomatoes chopped
  9. Make ready 1 Onion finely chopped
  10. Get 3 Green Chillies
  11. Prepare 1 Spring Curry Leaves
  12. Make ready 1 bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  13. Prepare 1/4 cup Tamarind soaked
  14. Take 3 tbsp Oil
  15. Get 1/2 tsp Garam Masala optional
Steps to make One Pot Hyderabadi Dalcha:
  1. Heat Oil in a Pressure Cooker. Saute Onions with Ginger garlic paste until light brown and done. To this add all the spices now including chopped Tomatoes. Also add Curry Leaves too.
  2. Cover and cook for about 3 minutes until the tomatoes are soft. Now add Bottle Gourd chunks. Saute until 2 more minutes. To this finally add soaked Daal. Mix well and add Green Chillies and chopped Coriander Leaves along with the squeezed Tamarind juice. Also, add 2-3 cups of water. Pressure cook for 8-10 whistles or accordingly.
  3. Let the pressure settle down before opening the lid of the Pressure Cooker. Adjust Salt and check for consistency too. It should be semi-thick and not watery or thin. Do not worry about some broken Lentils. It's perfectly okay. It would still taste awesome. That's it. As simple as that. Serve hot with Hyderabadi Baghara Khaana and Tala huwa Gosht. Yum!
