The ingredients needed to make Moong Dal Payadam:
  1. Make ready 1 cup Moong dal
  2. Prepare 1 cup Jaggery
  3. Make ready 1 cup Coconut milk
  4. Prepare 1 tbsp Ghee
  5. Take as needed Cashew
  6. Take handful Dry grapes
  7. Get 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  8. Prepare 1/2 cup Chopped coconut
  9. Make ready as needed Water
  10. Prepare to taste Salt
Steps to make Moong Dal Payadam:
  1. Preheat a sauce pan. Dry roast 1 cup Moong dal and then boil with 4 cups of water.
  2. Mix 1 cup of jaggery & 1 cup of water. Boil till jaggery is completely dissolved.
  3. Once the moong dal is cooked well to mashy consistency, strain the jaggery water into the moong dal pan. Add 1 cup of fresh coconut milk to the mixture and cook till the ingredients blend well.
  4. Melt 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan and add cashew & dry grapes as required. Roast till it turns to golden brown color. Add roughly coconut to the pan.
  5. Add 1/4 tsp cardamon powder & the roasted nuts to the cooked moong dal mixture. Sweet & delicious moong dal payasam is ready.
