The ingredients needed to make Dal Palak:
Prepare 1 cup chana dal
Get 2 cups chopped palak(spinach)
Take 2 onions chopped
Prepare 2 Tomatoes chopped
Make ready 1 teaspoon whole jeera/cumin seeds
Make ready to taste Salt and chilli powder according
Take as needed water for cooking
Get as needed oil
Steps to make Dal Palak:
Wash the dal and palak thoroughly with water.chop the palak in small pieces
Now pressure cook both dal and palak together for 4 whistles on medium flame. Keep aside
For Gravy : In a pan heat some oil and add whole jeera. When rge jeera starts sputtering add the chopped onions and ginger garlic paste cook till the rawness if the paste goes away. Or till the onions turn translucent
Now add the chopped tomatoes and also add salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Mix well and cook for about 5mins on slow flame
Now add the boiled dal and palak to it. Mix well and cover the lid and let it simmer for about 5 minutes on slow flame. After 5 minutes switch off the gas and serve the dal hot. It best goes with rice
