  2. Take 5 tbspn gingely oil
  3. Take 1 tspn fenugreek seeds

  6. Make ready 10 garlic cloves
  7. Get 2 spring curry leaves
  8. Get 10 shallots/1 onion (chopped)
  9. Make ready 1 tomato (chopped)
  10. Take 2 green chillies (slit)
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  12. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  13. Take 1 tbspn coriander powder
  14. Prepare 2 tbsp mixed curry masala/kuzhambu podi
  15. Take To taste salt
  16. Take 2 tbspn coriander leaves (chopped)
  17. Take To grind
  18. Prepare 2 onions
  19. Take 2 tomatoes
  20. Prepare 1 tbspn cumin seeds
  21. Get To soak
  22. Make ready 1 Lemon size tamarind
  23. Take 1 cup water
Instructions to make Anchovies Fish Curry/Nethili Meen Kuzhambu:
  1. Clean fish at least twice in turmeric water and set aside. Soak tamarind in 1 cup water. Keep all ingredients ready.
  2. In a blender add ingredients to grind and blend to coarse paste. Set aside.
  3. Heat gingely oil in a wide pan, add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds after it cracks add urad dhal.
  4. Next add the garlic curry leaves and onion.
  5. Add green chillies, tomato and the ground paste. Saute till raw smell disappears.
  6. Next add the spices, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and mixed curry masala. Saute till oil separates from the pan.
  7. Add salt(I've used rock salt) and tamarind water. Adjust water accordingly. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Once it starts boiling add the cleaned fish and cook for 5 minutes. Don't stir after adding the fish it will break. Garnish with coriander leaves.
