The ingredients needed to make Paneer Butter Masala:
  1. Get 250 g Paneer cubes
  2. Get 1 Onion (Chopped)
  3. Prepare 3 medium sized Tomatoes (Chopped)
  4. Get 1 piece Ginger
  5. Prepare 4 Garlic Cloves
  6. Make ready 2-3 Green Chillies (Acc. to taste)
  7. Prepare 8-10 Cashews
  8. Get 1 medium size cinnamon stick

  11. Take 1 tsp cumin seeds
  12. Make ready 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  13. Prepare 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  14. Get 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  15. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  16. Make ready 2 Tbsp Ghee or Butter
  17. Get 1 small pack of Fresh Cream
  18. Take 2 tsp Kasuri Methi (dry fenugreek leaves)
  19. Get to taste Salt
  20. Take 1 tsp sugar to balance
Steps to make Paneer Butter Masala:
  1. First defrost the paneer.
  2. Cut the onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and chillies, keep aside.
  3. In a wok add 2tbsp ghee (if butter then add 1:1 ratio of butter and oil).
  4. Once the ghee is hot add cumin seeds and other spices (cloves, bayleaf and cinnamon)
  5. Later add chilies, onion, tomatoes, and cashews. Let it cook for 1-2mins until the onion gets colorless.
  6. Then, add chili powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Saute it well and cook for 2mins. Keep it aside and let it cool.
  7. Keep aOnce it's slightly cool grind the mixture to a paste.
  8. Heat a wok, add a tsp of ghee and add the mixture, simmer the flame and add half a cup of water and mix it well.
  9. Later add Garam masala, salt, and sugar. and let it cook for around 3 to 4 mins until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  10. Heat a pan, add a tsp of ghee and fry the paneer to get a crispy coating.
  11. Add the crispy paneer to the mixture and finally add fresh cream.
  12. Serve it hot.
  13. Goes well with garlic/butter Naan, Chapati or Roti.
