  2. Make ready 1 1/2 cup urad dhal goala
  3. Make ready 3 cups idli rice
  4. Get 1 cup Kolam rice or Sona masuri rice not basmati the taste will differ
  5. Make ready as needed poha
Steps to make Idli with gun powder:
  1. Soak dhal and rice separately for 6 hours then grind it separate to smooth paste in wet grinder in mixy jar it will not come very well. Note soak poha for ten min and add it with rice while grinding. Now mix all the ingredients and let it ferment for 8 hours
  2. Now oil the idli stand and make idli and stem for 10 to 15 mins. Take it out cut it into four pieces and smear it with gun powder mixed with oil on all four corners. This is best for family travel too.
