The ingredients needed to make Buta Don:
  1. Prepare Cooked Rice 3 to 4 servings
  2. Get 500 g Skinless Pork Belly *thinly sliced
  3. Prepare 1 tablespoon Oil
  4. Get Salt
  5. Make ready 1-2 Spring Onion *finely chopped
  6. Get <Sauce Ingredients>
  7. Get 1 1/2 tablespoons Sugar
  8. Get 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce

Instructions to make Buta Don:
  1. Place all ingredients for the sauce in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Heat Oil in a large frying pan over medium to high heat, cook Pork slices, adding a pinch of Salt, until nicely brown. It doesn’t take long at all.
  3. Add the Sauce mixture and cook until the sauce thickens.
  4. Half fill a bowl with cooked rice and cover it with the Pork. Sprinkle some chopped Spring Onion and serve. Some Chili, Shichimi (Japanese Chili Spices) or Toasted Sasem Seeds are also nice for topping.
